Real Madrid star receives fresh ‘best in the world’ shouts during Man City clash

A leading member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has on Wednesday come in for fresh shouts of being the very best in world football in his role.

The player in question? Federico Valverde.

Valverde was for his part in from the off once more this evening, as Real Madrid welcomed Manchester City to Spain’s capital for a Champions League showdown.

Amid the ongoing personnel problems in Los Blancos’ backline, the Uruguayan was asked by boss Carlo Ancelotti to fill in at right-back.

And to say that Valverde proved a success in such endeavours would be something of an understatement.

Amid nothing short of a sensational performance to date, the 26-year-old has shone on both sides of the ball, unflappable in his defending, and an absolute dynamo going forward.

Valverde has managed to carve out a whole host of goalscoring opportunities courtesy of pinpoint crosses from the right, and bagged the assist for Kylian Mbappé’s third of the clash, too.

Whilst it is the latter who has stolen the majority of the headlines this evening, it is that man Valverde who, in turn, has been widely labelled the ‘best in the world’ online:
