Real Madrid star Thibaut Courtois has early this week provided an insight into his fitness levels at present.
This of course comes after the shot-stopper set alarm bells sounding across Spain’s capital whilst on international duty at this summer’s World Cup.
Courtois for his part played a starring role for his native Belgium in North America over the last couple of months. En route to a quarter-final exit for the Red Devils, the former Chelsea man proved a safe pair of hands between the posts throughout.
During Belgium’s last-8 meeting with Spain, however, Courtois was forced into a premature departure from proceedings, owing to a muscular injury.
Stopped by the media whilst enjoying his summer vacation on Monday, the 34-year-old was in turn asked for an update on his wellbeing.
And Courtois’ response proved a positive one, as the experienced goalkeeper confirmed:
“My injury? I feel no pain, anymore. I will be ready when I’m back for pre-season.”
