Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham has seen his latest outstanding performance on the international stage aptly recognised. This comes amid confirmation that the 23-year-old has been nominated for the Nations League Player of the Round award.
Midfielder Bellingham was for his part back in action in the colours of England on Saturday evening. Fresh off back-to-back wins to open their Nations League campaign, Thomas Tuchel’s troops made the trip to Rijeka to face off with Croatia.
And en route to an eventual 7-0 rout for the visitors, Bellingham proved himself the star of the show.
After laying on Harry Kane’s opener, the former Borussia Dortmund talent turned goalscorer himself a short time later. And Bellingham was far from done there, also bagging the assists for two of England’s other five goals.
In turn, it should come as little surprise to hear of the all-action midfielder’s name being put forward for a sought-after accolade.
As revealed across UEFA’s social media platforms, Bellingham has been voted onto the four-man shortlist for Nations League Player of the Round:
