Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé has on Tuesday taken to social media, to show his support for teammate Vinícius Jr.
This of course comes fresh off something of an evening to forget for Vinícius on Monday.
Long considered the runaway favourite to secure the Ballon d’Or, the Brazilian international was snubbed at the last, the award instead having gone the way of Manchester City midfielder Rodri.
Real Madrid, as an institution, therefore made the call to boycott the Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris.
A whole host of leading members of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad also took to social media, to throw their backing behind Vinícius over the course of the evening.
One player who had remained notably silent amid the ‘Golden Ball’ fallout, though, was the aforementioned Kylian Mbappé.
Amid murmurs that as much may have come owing to Mbappé not backing his teammate’s claim for the title of best player in the world, the summer arrival in Madrid, on Tuesday, therefore moved to clarify the situation.
Taking to the comments section of Vinícius’ latest post on Instagram, Mbappé unveiled a simple but effective response, featuring little more than three white hearts:
