New Real Madrid signing Kylian Mbappé has this week added to his sporting portfolio, in altogether head-turning fashion.
This comes amid confirmation that the 25-year-old has taken over a majority ownership stake in Ligue 2 club SM Caen.
Mbappé has for his part been locked in negotiations with the Caen brass for some time now.
As much came with a view to buying owners Oaktree out of their 80% stake in the Normandy-based club.
With his own future at club level now decided, Mbappé and his entourage, in turn, moved to step up talks over a deal for Caen.
And, as alluded to above, on Tuesday, such endeavours on the part of the prolific attacker have at last borne fruit.
As per a report from French outlet L’Équipe:
‘Kylian Mbappé, via his investment fund Coalition Capital, has bought the 80% of the Ligue 2 club previously held by the Americans Oaktree. The documents were signed this Tuesday evening.’
