A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has joined the short list of players considered ‘untouchable’ by head coach José Mourinho.
That’s according to Marca, who highlight Arda Güler as the player in question.
Youngster Arda is for his part fresh off something of a rarity this past weekend. Afforded a starting berth in Real Madrid’s showdown with arch rivals Barcelona, the 21-year-old went on to see out the full 90 minutes.
Not only that, but Arda played a crucial role in Los Blancos’ eventual winner inside the game’s closing minutes.
Having at one point been considered a rotation option, and since evolved into a regular starter who would be hooked in key moments, the Turk is now viewed as one of José Mourinho’s ever-present players.
As per a report from Marca:
‘Arda showed he can be decisive from the first minute to the last, joining Mourinho’s untouchables. Those players the manager doesn’t even consider taking off when the game isn’t decided: Valverde, Bellingham, Mbappé…’
