Real Madrid star could be back in contention to face AC Milan

Real Madrid are set to host AC Milan at the Bernabéu on Tuesday in Champions League action as they look to progress up the table in the League phase of the competition.

The Spanish giants could be receiving an injury boost ahead of the clash, as it would seem Brazilian star Rodrygo is nearing a return to action just in time for the European clash.

This comes as per Mundo Deportivo, who are reporting that the forward trained with the rest of the group this morning and isn’t ruled out of inclusion on Tuesday evening.

Rodrygo has made two appearances in the Champions League this season so far, netting just one assist when it comes to goal contributions for Los Blancos.

The 23-year-old played 85 minutes of Real Madrid’s 5-2 demolition of Borussia Dortmund last time out but then missed El Clásico against Barcelona due to injury.

Should the Brazilian make an appearance, it would be his 13th of the season, and he would be setting out in search of a fourth goal in all competitions.

It is still unclear whether Rodrygo would be more likely to make an appearance on the bench or in the starting XI if he should be fit for the clash, but the forward will be rushing to try and make the cut over the next two days.
