La Liga giants Real Madrid could bid farewell to a long-time member of the club’s first-team squad in the summer.
That’s according to Relevo, who point towards Lucas Vázquez as the player in question.
Full-back Vázquez, for his part, has played something of a bit-part role for Real Madrid across the 2024/25 campaign to date.
Owing to the long-term injury suffered by Dani Carvajal, the Spaniard was cast into an altogether more prominent role than expected in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.
After a string of somewhat underwhelming defensive performances, however, Vázquez has now seemingly dropped behind midfielder Federico Valverde in the right-back pecking order in Madrid.
And should this situation not change over the months ahead, the 33-year-old could find himself on the move.
Vázquez’s contract terms are due to expire in the summer, with Relevo having confirmed that:
‘The possibility of him changing teams in June is on the table and it is a scenario to take into account.’
Whether or not Real offer Vázquez – who has spent his entire career to date on the books of Los Blancos – a new deal is likely to depend on the level of his performances over the remainder of the season.
