A leading member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has agreed on the terms of a contract renewal with the club.
The player in question? Antonio Rüdiger.
Stopper Rüdiger’s future in Spain’s capital has of course long been considered as being up in the air. Ahead of the expiration of his deal in the summer, the German had long been tipped for a departure.
After an upturn in form over recent months, though, word was forthcoming that the Blancos brass had opened negotiations with Rüdiger and his entourage over a potential renewal.
And as alluded to above, this week, a full agreement has been reached between the parties.
As per a report from market insider Fabrizio Romano:
‘Toni Rüdiger and Real Madrid reach verbal agreement on new contract valid until June 2027. Plan to sign soon also with timing for official statement to be dictated by elections process ongoing.’
