Real Madrid shift attentions towards Haaland amid growing Kylian Mbappé frustration

The powers that be at Real Madrid have begun working on a plan B, amid ongoing efforts to add another ‘Galactico’ signing to their attacking ranks.

That’s according to Diario AS, who have today provided a fresh insight into developments in Spain’s capital.

It is of course common knowledge that Real are actively working towards the signing of Kylian Mbappé, ahead of the expiration of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

As the days pass, however, they are becoming increasingly frustrated by the actions of the French international.

To this point, Mbappé has not provided a definitive answer on his plans for the summer, amid suggestions that he continues to be tempted by the prospect of a move to the Premier League, too.

Ahead of the expiration of their proposal to the 25-year-old on January 15th, the Real Madrid hierarchy have, in turn, begun to explore other options.

Viewed as the next best thing when it comes to the world’s best attackers, Los Merengues are therefore drawing up a plan to tempt Erling Haaland to the Santiago Bernabéu, from Manchester City.

Like Mbappé, frontman Haaland has long been on the radar of Florentino Pérez and co, with his remarkable exploits in England having only served in reinforcing the collective belief in his talents.

Not only that, but the Norwegian – as an out-and-out centre-forward – would arguably fill a more direct gap in the XI in Madrid, with Mbappé favouring a role on the left wing.

Should the latter fail to commit to terms with Real by this coming weekend, keep a close eye on developments surrounding Erling Haaland…
