Real Madrid set to offer Marco Asensio new deal

Real Madrid will offer Marco Asensio a new deal during the World Cup break, according to Spanish outlet Relevo.

The La Liga club will present a formal offer to the Spain international and the intention is that he will sign a new deal with Los Blancos before 1 January 2023.

Last summer, Madrid decided not to extend his current deal (beyond 2023) and were even open to listening to offers for him.

However, Asensio hasn’t given up and he has scored or assisted every 67 minutes, the best average in the Madrid squad. The next best is Rodrygo with a goal or assist every 99 minutes.

Juventus, AC Milan, Chelsea and Manchester United have all reportedly shown interest in Asensio, whose current deal at the Santiago Bernabéu expires in June 2023. His priority is to remain at Real Madrid.

The 26-year-old has played eight times in La Liga this season, scoring one goal and registering one assist for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
