Real Madrid set sights on 2nd Bayer Leverkusen star

La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Monday been tipped to launch a move for another leading member of the first-team ranks at German champions Bayer Leverkusen.

This comes fresh off a new round of links with Florian Wirtz earlier in the day.

The brass in Spain’s capital are understood to have identified midfielder Wirtz as the ideal long-term replacement for Luka Modrić.

And one of the German starlet’s teammates is also seemingly being eyed as the eventual replacement for the sidelined Dani Carvajal.

As per a report from German football expert Florian Plettenberg:

‘Real Madrid are monitoring the situation of Jeremie Frimpong for next summer – confirmed.’

Frimpong, for his part, stood as one of the star performers in Xabi Alonso’s title-winning squad last season, racking up a head-turning 14 goals and 12 assists from his berth at right-wing-back.

And such exploits, it is understood, have piqued the attentions of those at Real Madrid, considering an assault on the Dutch international’s signature in the summer of 2025.

Frimpong is expected to be available for a sum in the region of €40 million.
