Real Madrid send message to French FA over Mbappé & Blancos stars’ status for Olympics

The powers that be at La Liga giants Real Madrid have today made contact with their counterparts at the French Football Federation.

This comes with a view to the upcoming summer Olympic games.

Real, of course, have seen their name directly linked with the upcoming Paris games for several months now.

As much comes amid long-standing speculation pointing towards incoming signing Kylian Mbappé preparing to make himself available to his country for the tournament.

France are understandably keen to march all the way to a gold medal on home soil at the 2024 Olympics.

In turn, a whole host of the country’s standout performers from across the continent have been tipped to be called up by Les Bleus.

Mbappé – all set to take his talents to Madrid from Paris Saint-Germain – is one, with Blancos midfielder Eduardo Camavinga also understood to be in the sights of Thierry Henry and his coaching staff.

If the latest word doing the rounds regarding the intentions of those in the boardroom at the Santiago Bernabéu is anything to go by, however, then the French Football Federation need not get their hopes up.

As per a report from the reliable L’Équipe:

‘Real Madrid have written to the FFF to warn them that none of their players will be allowed to play in the Olympic Games this summer.’

This, of course, comes with the European Championships also set to take place later this year, and all of Mbappé, Camavinga, and Aurélien Tchouaméni expected to be afforded call-ups by Didier Deschamps.
