Real Madrid readying Vinícius Jr-Rodrygo surprise for Man City

An insight into the plans of the coaching staff at Real Madrid for attacking pair Vinícius Jr. and Rodrygo in the club’s meeting with Manchester City on Tuesday has been forthcoming online.

The info comes courtesy of Jorge C Picón of Relevo, and points towards Carlo Ancelotti readying something of a surprise for his side’s upcoming opponents.

Real, of course, will return to action in short order.

In the first leg of the club’s Champions League quarter-final tie, Los Blancos will welcome the aforementioned Man City to the Santiago Bernabéu, for a highly-anticipated clash.

As is customary, a short time ago, the XI of stars set to be depended upon by the evening’s hosts was unveiled across social media.

And Brazilian duo Vinícius and Rodrygo will be in from the off on Tuesday night.

Whilst as much will no doubt have been expected on the part of Pep Guardiola and Man City, though, unlikely to have been is the possibility that Vinícius and Rodrygo will alternate their positions on the pitch.

As per the aforementioned Jorge C Picón, the latter could well take his place on the left of midfield, in a 4-4-2 formation at the Bernabéu.

As much was tested in training on a number of occasions over the course of the last week.

The move would allow for Jude Bellingham to step into a more advanced role, joining Vinícius Jr. as part of a front two.

Not only that, but, making the formation an even more difficult one for Man City to deal with would be Rodrygo and Vinícius chopping and changing positions over the course of the 90 minutes.
