The powers that be at La Liga giants Real Madrid are giving serious consideration to an audacious summer swoop for a headline member of the defensive ranks at Liverpool.
That’s according to Relevo, who have today provided an insight into the latest ongoings behind the scenes in Spain’s capital.
The player to have made his way onto the radar of the Real brass comes in the form of Trent Alexander-Arnold.
It is of course common knowledge that Los Blancos are on the lookout for a long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal at right-back, with the understanding that Alexander-Arnold ticks all the boxes – young (25), talented, boasting experience on the biggest stage and, crucially, on an expiring contract.
TAA’s current terms with Liverpool are due to run out in the summer of 2025.
And though the board at Anfield are expected to do their utmost to tie their star full-back down for the long-term, as of yet, little progress has been made towards as much.
Real Madrid therefore view the England international as another market opportunity, studying both the options of a cut-price operation this coming summer, and a free agent swoop in a little over 12 months’ time.
It is currently unclear whether or not Alexander-Arnold himself would be interested in the prospect of a move to the Santiago Bernabéu, but with compatriot Jude Bellingham continuing to grab headlines across the continent owing to his exploits in the famed white of the capital giants, as things stand, as much cannot be ruled out.
