Real Madrid provide defender injury update

La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Sunday provided an update on the wellbeing of a member of the club’s defensive ranks.

The player in question? Éder Militão.

Stopper Militão for his part set alarm bells ringing across the Spanish capital earlier this week.

As much came amid confirmation that he had been forced into a premature departure from the Brazilian national team camp, through injury.

The news could not have come at a worse time for Real Madrid, in the midst of something of a crisis at the heart of the club’s backline at present.

Militão, in turn, had since flown back to Valdebebas, to undergo a round of medical tests.

And, as alluded to above, on Sunday, the result of as much have been revealed.

As per a statement across Real Madrid’s website and social media platforms, the club’s defensive standout has picked up a hamstring injury in his right leg:

‘Following the tests carried out today on our player Éder Militão by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury due to overload in the rectus femoris of his right leg. Pending evolution.’
