Real Madrid legend: Vinícius ‘reminded me of Pelé’ with performance vs Dortmund

Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. has this week come in for the ultimate compliment, on the part of club legend Emilio Butragueño.

This, of course, comes fresh off a night to remember for the Brazilian on the continent.

With his side trailing by two goals to nil at the interval in a Champions League meeting with Borussia Dortmund, Vinícius stood up to be counted when needed most.

This came by way of a stunning 2nd-half hat-trick, leading Real Madrid to the right side of an eventual 5-2 result.

Post-match, Vinícius, in turn, has since been showered in altogether deserved praise, on the part of leading figures from across the world of football.

And, as alluded to above, one such figure came in the form of none other than Blancos legend Emilio Butragueño.

Speaking during an appearance on Real Madrid TV in the aftermath of Tuesday’s clash, ex-frontman Butragueño went as far as to draw comparisons between Vinícius, and Brazil’s greatest-ever player:

“He reminded me of Pelé. He scored a magnificent goal. For anyone who loves football, it’s worth coming to the Bernabeu to see a player capable of producing plays that evoke so many emotions among us.”
