La Liga champions Real Madrid have on Monday been made aware of the outcome of their appeal against the recent red card handed down to Vinícius Jr.
Wide-man Vinícius, for his part, was given his marching orders during a La Liga meeting with Valencia two weeks ago.
This came after a VAR review adjudged the Brazilian to have been guilty of violent conduct, in directing a two-handed shove into the face/neck of Valencia no.1 Stole Dimitrievski.
Despite the ensuing two-match ban decided upon by the Spanish football authorities having been considered as a lenient one, Real Madrid nevertheless opted to appeal the ban.
And, as alluded to above, on Monday, the result of as much has been revealed.
As per a report from COPE, amongst others, Los Blancos’ pleas have fallen on deaf ears, with Vinícius’ sanction having been upheld.
The 24-year-old will therefore be unavailable to feature in either of Real Madrid’s upcoming La Liga fixtures against Las Palmas, or Real Valladolid.
