Real Madrid learn outcome of Jude Bellingham red card appeal

La Liga champions Real Madrid have on Friday been made aware of the outcome of their appeal to have Jude Bellingham’s recent red card overturned.

Midfielder Bellingham was of course given his marching orders amid controversial scenes last weekend.

This came after a verbal exchange with referee José Munuera culminated in the Englishman being shown a straight red card.

Bellingham was in turn slapped with a two-match ban from La Liga play.

Amid the ongoing battle for the Spanish top-flight title, those behind the scenes at Real Madrid were left furious with as much, therefore launching an official appeal in an attempt to have the sanction overturned.

And as alluded to above, Los Blancos have today discovered the result of as much.

Unfortunately for those of a Real persuasion, the club’s appeal has been firmly rejected.

This means that Bellingham will indeed be forced to sit out both of the club’s upcoming fixtures against Girona and Real Betis, as well as the first leg of their Champions League tie with rivals Atlético.
