La Liga giants Real Madrid are viewed as being ahead of arch rivals Barcelona in the race for the signature of Manchester United starlet JJ Gabriel.
This comes amid a heated battle for the services of the 15-year-old England youth international across all of Europe.
The name of teenage prodigy Gabriel has of course taken its place front and centre in the transfer headlines over the last 24 hours. The versatile attacker is widely understood to have made the call to depart Manchester, a heavy blow for all associated with long-time club United.
Gabriel is considered one of the standout up-and-coming talents in world football, a potential future superstar in the making.
Word of his desire for a new challenge has in turn put some of the continent’s top clubs on red alert. To date, a whole host of clubs, from England, Spain, Germany, France and beyond, have been tipped as potential landing spots for the youngster.
And as alluded to above, on Wednesday, one such suitor are understood to have positioned themselves at the very front of the queue. As per a report from Spanish journalist Javier Rodríguez Pascual:
‘Real Madrid are leading the race for JJ Gabriel. In Valdebebas, they already want him for Castilla. Barça and Chelsea also interested. Arsenal keeping an eye.’
