Real Madrid have again turned its attention to the Brazilian market, amid the club’s ongoing search for reinforcements in the attacking third.
The powers that be at the Santiago Bernabéu are keen to add to the club’s options up top ahead of next season.
In turn, a whole host of names from across Europe have been tipped as potential arrivals in the Spanish capital.
An option from further afield has also, however, been floated in the Brazilian media.
As per a report from Globo Esporte, Santos’ Marcos Leonardo has been placed high on the wishlist of Carlo Ancelotti and Co.
The report goes as far as to suggest that contact has already been initiated between Los Blancos and their counterparts at Santos, regarding the terms of a potential January deal.
Newcastle United, though, are also firmly in the hunt for the 20-year-old.
Leonardo would be expected to set any interested party back a sum in the region of €25m.
