As reported by journalist Florian Plettenberg, Real Madrid consider Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies as their number one target in the summer and have asked the player to not extend his existing deal with the German champions.
Madrid have had a long-standing interest in the Canadian and have been in regular contact with his agent, in an attempt to lure the player away from the Bundesliga side. Furthermore, to increase their chances of signing him this summer, they have asked Davies to reject Bayern’s recent contract proposals.
Consequently, talks between the Munich club and the 23-year-old have stalled and reached an impasse. However, it is expected that the club will submit another renewal proposal to the player in the hope that Davies will extend his contract beyond 2025.
At the moment, a departure in the summer is possible even though Davies feels comfortable at his current club. Los Blancos are expected to intensify their pursuit of the defender, as they aim to convince him to make the switch to the Spanish capital.
