Real Madrid in Dani Carvajal replacement U-turn

The powers that be at La Liga champions Real Madrid do not intend to seek out a replacement for sidelined defender Dani Carvajal.

That’s according to El Chiringuito TV, amongst others, who have on Monday provided a fresh insight into the situation.

Stopper Carvajal was for his part of course condemned to a long-term spell out of action over the weekend.

As much comes after the Spanish international was stretchered out of Real Madrid’s victory over Villarreal, before being diagnosed with ‘a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament, a ruptured external collateral ligament and a ruptured popliteus tendon in his right leg’.

Ensuing reports in the immediate aftermath of the extent of Carvajal’s blow being confirmed assured that the plan on the part of the Santiago Bernabéu brass was to dip into the market in January, to seek out a replacement.

As alluded to above, however, if the latest word to have surfaced on Monday is anything to go by, then this will in fact not prove the case.

As per the aforementioned El Chiringuito:

‘Real Madrid will not sign a replacement for Carvajal.’

Instead, Lucas Vázquez will be depended upon to fill the void left by Real’s long-time stalwart at right-back.
