Real Madrid identify Tottenham star as ‘serious’ option to reinforce defence

The powers that be at La Liga giants Real Madrid have identified a leading member of the defensive ranks at Tottenham Hotspur as a potential signing for next season.

That’s according to Diario AS, who point towards Pedro Porro as the player in question.

Defender Porro, for his part, is in the midst of what has been a fine start to the new campaign.

Featuring from the off in all nine of Tottenham’s Premier League outings, the 25-year-old has shone from his berth at right-back, chipping in with a solitary goal, too.

And as much, evidently, has not gone unnoticed back in his home country.

As per a report from AS:

‘Pedro Porro has been on Real Madrid’s agenda for some time now. What is new is that this interest is still latent. Intensified by the current context.’

The La Liga champions recently lost first-choice right-back Dani Carvajal to a long-term injury, meaning reinforcements in the position are expected to be prioritised with a view to next season.

And though Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold remains the first-choice target, Porro is considered a ‘serious’ alternative for next summer.
