Real Madrid handed timely Vinícius Jr. boost for Girona showdown

An update on the wellbeing of Real Madrid talisman Vinícius Jr. has been forthcoming online this afternoon.

And the news will no doubt be met with widespread glee on the part of those of a Real persuasion.

Wide-man Vinícius, of course, set pulses racing in Spain’s capital last weekend.

This came upon the Brazilian international pulling out of Los Blancos’ warm-up for the latest edition of the Madrid Derby.

Ensuing medical tests revealed that he was dealing with a cervical problem in his neck, with Vinícius as a result having since been forced to sit out training across the week to date.

His presence for Saturday’s top-of-the-table La Liga showdown with Girona had in turn been thrown up in the air, amid what has proven a dismal couple of weeks for Carlo Ancelotti’s squad on the injury front.

On Thursday, though, at long last, some positive news has come the way of all associated with Real Madrid.

This comes in the form of confirmation that Vinícius has rejoined full training with the rest of Ancelotti’s ranks at Valdebebas.

The 23-year-old is yet to be 100% medically cleared to face Girona, but, according to a whole host of sources in Spain on Thursday afternoon, as much looks a near certainty.
