Real Madrid handed boost in Leny Yoro chase

Spanish giants Real Madrid have this week been afforded a boost in their pursuit of LOSC Lille talent Leny Yoro.

This comes in the form of confirmation that their main rivals in the race for the Frenchman have informed Lille of their readiness to step away from negotiations.

As per a report from DIario Sport, Paris Saint-Germain have long tabled an offer to their Ligue 1 rivals for Yoro’s signature.

In fact, amid something of a defensive crisis in Luis Enrique’s squad, the capital giants attempted to fast-track the transfer to mid-season.

And yet, despite Yoro being widely regarded as one of Europe’s standout young talents, PSG, now, are ready to pull the plug on their efforts to bring him in.

This comes with Lille continuing to hike up the asking price for their crown jewel.

After it was last summer suggested that the 18-year-old could be available for a fee in the region of €20 million, his price-tag has since skyrocketed to no less than 60 million.

With their proposal having been in place prior to such a jump, PSG have in turn made it clear to the powers that be at The Stade Pierre-Mauroy that they will not budge on the sum offered.

And this could well afford the aforementioned Real Madrid something of a free run at Yoro’s services.

Though a number of clubs from the Premier League are said to be sniffing around his signature, too, Los Blancos have long been labelled the frontrunners alongside PSG.

Ready to spend big on a player considered to be a potential defensive lynchpin for a decade or more to come, the La Liga leaders may, as a result, this week have moved a significant step closer to striking a deal for prime target Yoro.
