Real Madrid forward Rodrygo: “Kylian Mbappé would help us.”

Rodrygo took part in a press conference on Wednesday as part of media duty for the Brazil national team, as they prepare for a friendly against Guinea at the RCDE stadium on Saturday.

The Real Madrid player spoke about the prospect of Kylian Mbappé making the long-awaited switch to the Santiago Bernabéu.

“Mbappé? I would be happy with him coming now even more so with Karim leaving. As I said, he is one of the best in the world and he would certainly help us a lot but we have to respect his contract with PSG,” he said.

“Now Vini and I must take a step forward and score the goals that Karim scored.”

Rodrygo was directly involved in 24 goals across La Liga and the Champions League last season, while Vinícius Júnior recorded 32 goal involvements, as per FBref

But making up for the loss of Benzema will be a tall order. Rodrygo also stated in the press conference that Los Blancos “need a player in that position”.
