Supporters of Real Madrid have taken to social media in numbers this evening, to make their frustrations with head coach Carlo Ancelotti known.
This, of course, comes on the back of Real being sent packing from the Copa del Rey.
Fresh off clinching Spanish Super Cup glory last weekend, Ancelotti and co. made the trip to the Wanda Metropolitano on Thursday, for a showdown with city rivals Atlético Madrid.
After Los Blancos put their neighbours to the sword this day last week, however, they were on this occasion forced to face up to a deserved defeat.
This comes after extra-time goals on the part of Antoine Griezmann and Rodrigo Riquelme proved enough to guide hosts Atlético to the right side of a 4-2 result.
Post-match, it should in turn come as little surprise to hear of the Real Madrid faithful being up in arms.
Despite what has proven something of a hectic week for all associated with the club, the capital giants’ stars have not been spared, with the likes of Vinícius Jr. and Aurélien Tchouaméni having come in for heavy criticism online.
None, however, has been more widely targeted than the aforementioned Carlo Ancelotti.
Left with little choice but to rotate his squad, Real’s boss introduced the likes of Luka Modrić and Eduardo Camavinga to his XI for the derby.
But it was his decision not to make use of summer signing Arda Güler for a single minute which has since culminated in Ancelotti being ruthlessly targeted by Blancos’ fans the world over.
