Real Madrid dealt UCL suspension blow vs Man City

La Liga giants Real Madrid have this evening been dealt a blow on the personnel front.

This comes in the midst of the club’s Champions League showdown with Premier League champions Manchester City.

Real are of course currently locked in action on the continent, in the 2nd leg of their quarter-final tie with Pep Guardiola’s City.

As things stand with 45 minutes on the clock at The Etihad, it is Carlo Ancelotti’s troops who boast the advantage, owing to a solitary strike on the part of frontman Rodrygo.

As alluded to above, though, amid an otherwise positive night’s work to date, Los Blancos have also been dealt a considerable blow.

This comes with defender Dani Carvajal having picked up a yellow card.

The experienced Carvajal was cautioned for bringing down Jack Grealish from behind late in the first-half.

And, in the process, the 32-year-old picked up for himself a suspension.

In the case of Real going on to advance this evening, Carvajal will in turn be unavailable for selection for the first-leg of the club’s Champions League semi-final tie with either Arsenal or Bayern Munich.
