La Liga giants Real Madrid could well find themselves beaten to the punch in the race for Palmeiras talent and long-time transfer target Vitor Reis.
That’s according to The Athletic, who have on Friday confirmed that Premier League outfit Brighton & Hove Albion are pushing hard for the signature of the defender.
Reis has for his part long seen his name prove a prominent one in the transfer headlines in Spain.
This comes after the 18-year-old was earmarked as one option to reinforce the heart of Real Madrid’s backline for the long-term.
In turn, the latest word stemming from the media on Friday will no doubt mark a source of concern for Florentino Pérez and co.
As per a report from The Athletic:
‘Brighton & Hove Albion are trying to conclude a deal to buy teenage central defender Vitor Reis from Palmeiras.’
It is also reiterated that Arsenal and Real Madrid are long-term admirers of the Brazilian, whom Palmeiras are ‘reluctant’ to allow to depart this month.
Nevertheless, Brighton are pushing hard to strike a deal, with further updates on the situation expected over the days ahead.
