The powers that be at La Liga giants Real Madrid are giving consideration to a winter move for Bayer Leverkusen star Jonathan Tah.
That’s according to German transfer insider Florian Plettenberg.
The subject of potential defensive reinforcements has of course dominated the headlines in Spain’s capital over the last couple of days.
This comes after Los Blancos were dealt yet another heavy blow, upon Éder Militão suffering a 2nd ACL tear in the space of just over a year.
With David Alaba, Joan Martínez and Dani Carvajal ruled out long-term, too, it should in turn come as little surprise to hear that the board at the Santiago Bernabéu are giving consideration to dipping into the transfer window mid-season.
And one option on Real’s shortlist comes in the form of the aforementioned Jonathan Tah.
As per a report from Florian Plettenberg:
‘There are no concrete negotiations yet, but a transfer of the 28-year-old could become a real possibility in January.’
Tah is due to see his contract terms at the BayArena come to a close next summer, meaning he could be available for a cut-price fee following the turn of the year.
The stopper is also known to be on the wishlist of the brass at Real Madrid’s arch rivals, Barcelona, as well as Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich.
