Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has on Saturday sent a message of congratulations the way of arch rivals Barcelona.
This, of course, comes fresh off the Blaugrana securing their status as Spanish champions once more.
Owing to a 2-0 downing of Espanyol on Thursday night, Barca opened their advantage atop the La Liga table to seven points, with just two games to play.
Mathematically out of sight of Real Madrid, Hansi Flick’s troops have therefore been crowned champions of Spain for the 28th time.
With his side’s status as La Liga title-holders having now officially come to an end, Carlo Ancelotti was therefore drawn on Barca’s stellar campaign on Saturday.
And, during a press conference ahead of Real Madrid’s La Liga meeting with Sevilla tomorrow evening, the Italian tactician made use of the opportunity to send a classy message the way of Flick and co:
“Barcelona performed brilliantly and should be congratulated because they were the most consistent team in the league and played very beautiful football. Yes, they deserved to win this title.”
