Real Madrid boss Ancelotti provides fresh update on plans for Arda Güler

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has today provided a fresh insight into the situation of youngster Arda Güler.

The subject of Güler’s place in Madrid has of course dominated the headlines in Spain for some time now.

This comes amid increasing frustration on the part of both the player himself, and Real’s fanbase, with the lack of playing time being afforded to the Turkish talent.

The early months of the campaign saw Güler unavailable to boss Ancelotti, owing to a string of injury setbacks.

Despite having now been back fit for over a month, though, he has nevertheless been handed just a quartet of appearances, for a grand total of around 90 minutes.

In turn, murmurs had even begun to spread in the media, that Güler was set to be farmed out on loan for the 2nd half of the term.

With the January transfer window having now come and gone, as much, evidently, will not prove to be the case.

Speaking to the media ahead of his side’s upcoming La Liga meeting with Rayo Vallecano, Carlo Ancelotti was this evening therefore inevitably asked for an update on his plans for Güler.

And, once more, Real’s boss was keen to urge patience, adamant that the 18-year-old is now ‘at a good level’, ready to ‘fight’ for a place in his team:

“Arda Güler? He’s fine, he can play. He’s at a good level. He has to fight with the other players now. Be patient with him.”
