Real Madrid boss Ancelotti provides David Alaba injury update

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has this weekend moved to quell concerns surrounding the wellbeing of David Alaba.

For those who may have missed it, reports began to surface in the Spanish media early this week, pointing towards a potential end to Alaba’s career.

The Austrian international has been sidelined since late last year, owing to an ACL tear.

After his return date, originally pencilled in for this month, was pushed back until 2025, it was subsequently claimed that Alaba’s situation was not at all improving, with the wearing of the cartilage in his knee having left the former Bayern Munich man in severe pain.

So serious is the matter, it was claimed, that Alaba may never be able to take to the pitch again.

Speaking to the media ahead of his side’s return to action this weekend, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his sidelined defender’s wellbeing was put to the aforementioned Carlo Ancelotti.

And, in his response, Real’s headmaster put a definitive end to the worrying speculation surrounding Alaba.

”David Alaba will be back with the team soon,” Ancelotti assured.
