Real Madrid & Bayern Munich €20m apart in Alphonso Davies valuation

An insight into the ongoing efforts of the powers that be at La Liga giants Real Madrid to strike a deal for Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies has been provided on Thursday.

And the news will no doubt come as a source of concern for all of those hopeful of left-back Davies ultimately landing in Spain’s capital this summer.

This comes amid claims that, despite the lengthy negotiations between the clubs, Real and Bayern remain some way apart in their respective valuations of the Canadian international.

As per a report from Diario AS, citing German outlet Bild, an agreement has already been put in place between Davies and the board at the Santiago Bernabéu, on the terms of a long-term contract.

This comes with the player himself desperate to take his talents to Spain with a view to next season.

The trouble, however, lies in the refusal of Bayern to drop their asking price.

The Bavarians, it is claimed, are dead set on securing a sum in the region of €60 million for their star defender.

Ahead of the expiration of his contract in the summer of 2025, however, Real Madrid are of the opinion that a valuation closer to €40 million is a more reasonable one.

With both parties refusing to budge, any deal for Davies, as things stand, therefore appears to be on standby.
