Real Madrid and Manchester City the favourites to land Erling Haaland

Real Madrid want to sign Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé.

Mbappé’s contract with PSG expires at the end of June and he has yet to accept any new offers from the French club as he looks to move to the Spanish capital.

Madrid would reportedly take Mbappé now and wait another year for Haaland. The Athletic report that if the opportunity to sign Haaland is only available in the immediate term, Real will not want to miss out on the goalscoring machine, especially with Manchester City waiting in line.

The transfer fee, player’s salary and commission for intermediaries make Madrid and City the two front runners in the race to sign the Norwegian striker. PSG can afford the transfer, but a move Ligue 1 is not thought to be Haaland’s first choice.

Barcelona have also been linked with a move for the Borussia Dortmund player but the fees involved could see them miss out on the 21-year-old.
