Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich interested in Spain international Dani Olmo

Talks over a contract renewal for Dani Olmo at RB Leipzig are at a standstill and the Spain international could leave the German outfit this summer, report Mundo Deportivo.

Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on his situation and both clubs have already approached him to try to sign the 24-year-old for around €40m, a price that Barcelona could not compete with.

Bayern previously had a slight advantage when they had Julian Nagelsmann in charge as it was the German coach who convinced Olmo to make the move from Dinamo Zagreb to Leipzig.

In addition to Madrid and Bayern, there are two Premier League clubs who have also shown interest.

Barcelona interest

Barcelona knew that Olmo was negotiating his renewal with RB Leipzig and they organised an informal meeting between Barça staff members, including Xavi Hernández, and people very close to the player at the home of a Spanish player in Doha.

They were interested in Olmo’s situation, showed their willingness to sign him, and praised his role at the 2022 World Cup, but also explained the economic situation at the Catalan club.

Barça’s request was that he didn’t sign a new deal in Germany because they would go after him if he was released in 2024, when his contract comes to an end with Leipzig.
