Real Betis star ruled out for a month

La Liga outfit Real Betis have on Tuesday confirmed the extent of the injury suffered by defender Natan in the Gran Derbi over the weekend.

Stopper Natan was for his part in from the off once more on Sunday, as Betis were put to the sword by a goal to nil by arch rivals Sevilla.

Post-match, however, word was forthcoming that the Brazilian, despite seeing out the 90 minutes, had suffered an injury setback.

Fears, in fact, spread that Natan, who has enjoyed a fine start to life in Verdiblancos colours since his summer arrival from Napoli, could be in line for a long-term spell on the sidelines.

This, fortunately, will not prove to be the case, but the 23-year-old has nevertheless suffered an injury blow.

As per a statement across Betis’ website and social media platforms:

‘Following the assessment and tests carried out by the Club’s medical services on our player Natan, a serious knee injury has been ruled out.

‘A medium-grade muscle injury has also been confirmed in the distal third of the left semimembranosus muscle.’

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, as much is likely to keep Natan sidelined for around a month.
