Real Betis star returns to training ahead of Valladolid clash

La Liga outfit Real Betis have on Wednesday been afforded a welcome boost on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that Ricardo Rodríguez has returned to group training alongside the rest of Manuel Pellegrini’s squad.

Defender Rodríguez was for his part forced to sit out this past weekend, as Real Betis made short work of Girona in La Liga.

As much came owing to a hamstring problem suffered en route to the Verdiblancos’ Europa Conference League downing of Jagiellonia Białystok.

Boss Pellegrini had since moved to assure that the issue was not a serious one, with the Swiss international working towards an incoming return to the pitch.

And as alluded to above, on Wednesday, Rodríguez took another significant step towards as much.

As revealed by El Chiringuito TV, the former AC Milan and Torino star was back in the thick of things in Betis training this morning.

The expectation, in turn, is that he will be afforded a call-up to the club’s squad to face Real Valladolid on Thursday.
