Real Betis set €20m asking price on West Ham target

After playing just one season in La Liga with Real Betis, Luiz Felipe could be heading to London to sign with the UEFA Conference League champions West Ham. Marcos Benito informs El Chiringuito TV that Betis are planning to sell the centre-back to the Hammers in exchange for €20m.

Luiz Felipe arrived at the Benito Villamarín stadium as a free agent last July after his Lazio contract expired. The 26-year-old, who impressed at the heart of the club’s defence, was indeed sent off on three occasions in 28 starts across all competitions for Betis, as per FBref

West Ham are actively seeking a new central defender this window. David Moyes’ team have already been linked with Sunderland prospect Daniel Ballard, as well as Manchester United’s Harry Maguire. ESPN previously reported that Maguire’s wages appear to be a huge stumbling block for the London club.
