Real Betis have never quite been able to reach the same levels of success as their city neighbours Sevilla. Currently sat just outside the top 6, they have always struggled to take that last step to becoming a real Spanish football success story.
Despite winning a Copa del Rey in 2022, the club always will look across the city in envy at the European success of their neighbours, and will always wonder how they can emulate that success.
The club are currently looking towards Real Madrid for a potential signing that they believe will take them to the top, and it is someone familiar to the fans of Los Verdiblancos.
Dani Ceballos, who started his career at Betis, has long been touted with a move back to his boyhood club, and when appearing on the radio on Cadena SER, club legend and sporting director Joaquín was positive that the move is possible.
‘Right now there is nothing, but he is always an attractive player. In the end, he is a Real Madrid player and the winter transfer market is always more difficult’ Joaquín said.
the legendary winger also said quite cryptically, ‘What I can tell you is that this summer I went to Utrera more times than in my entire life (laughs)’.
It seems that Real Betis will be keeping their eyes on Ceballos, monitoring the situation in anticipation of possibly making a move for the 28-year-old.
