Real Betis handed injury boost ahead of Valencia clash

La Liga outfit Real Betis have on Monday been afforded a welcome boost on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that Marc Roca has linked back up with the rest of Manuel Pellegrini’s squad in first-team training.

Midfielder Roca, for his part, has spent the last month on the sidelines, owing to an ankle injury suffered en route to Betis’ 3-2 defeat at the hands of Villarreal.

A key fixture in boss Pellegrini’s ranks in the middle of the park, the 27-year-old, as a result, was forced to sit out each of the Verdiblancos’ last three outings.

In turn, it will no doubt come as a welcome update for all associated with Betis to hear that Roca is closing on a return to competitive action.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, the former Bayern Munich man trained alongside his teammates at The Ciudad Deportiva Luis del Sol on Monday morning.

He is therefore viewed as being in with a good shot of making his comeback on Saturday, when Real Betis make the trip to the Mestalla, for a La Liga meeting with Valencia.

On the other hand, still absent from group activities at the club are all of Marc Bartra, Chimy Ávila, and Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
