Real Betis have contacted Marcelo Bielsa’s representatives over the possibility of replacing Rubi as head coach of the Primera División side next season, according to El Desmarque.

Rubi, whose job was on the line earlier this season is expected to find it difficult to last in the role beyond the summer as club expectations haven’t been met thus far. Betis sit in 13th place in La Liga and are without a win in six games across all competitions. Bielsa’s contract at Leeds expires this summer; the Argentine is currently aiming for promotion to the Premier League with the Yorkshire club after narrowly missing out in 2018-19.

The former Chile national team coach has previously managed in La Liga, having spells at Espanyol and Athletic Club.
