Real Betis confirm Vitor Roque injury blow

La Liga outfit Real Betis have on Wednesday announced an injury blow in the club’s attacking ranks.

The Betis star to have picked up a fitness problem? Vitor Roque.

Frontman Roque for his part featured from the off once more on Monday, as Manuel Pellegrini’s troops fell to a disappointing defeat at the hands of RCD Mallorca.

Midway through the 2nd-half, though, the summer arrival from Barcelona was hauled off, with what appeared to be an injury concern.

Roque, in turn, sat out group training on both Tuesday and Wednesday.

After he was also left out of Real Betis’ travelling squad to face Las Palmas tomorrow night, the Verdiblancos have this evening therefore provided an update on the wellbeing of their young attacker.

As per a statement across the club’s website and social media platforms:

‘Following tests carried out by the club’s medical services on our player Vítor Roque, a low-grade sprain of the internal ligament of his left ankle has been confirmed. The prognosis will depend on the evolution of the process.’
