Rayo Vallecano are set to complete the signing of Raúl de Tomás from Espanyol, report Mundo Deportivo.
The 27-year-old has been looking to leave the Catalonia-based side throughout the summer transfer window. According to the agreement, Rayo Vallecano will pay between €11m and €12m in order to secure the services of De Tomás.
He is expected to lower his salary and sign a long-term contract of four or five years.
It is unclear whether Rayo Vallecano could register De Tomás before the winter transfer window or not. While it is believed that most of the essential paperwork regarding the transfer was submitted to La Liga before the closing of the transfer market, Los Franjirrojos would only submit the registration documents in the next few days.
La Liga clubs are able to to make one emergency transfer outside of the transfer window, but it is yet to be seen if Rayo Vallecano’s request would be accepted.
