Rayo Vallecano and Espanyol are in advanced talks for forward Raúl de Tomás, according to Partidazo de COPE.
The fee would be in the region of €10-12m for 70% of the player’s rights. De Tomás could join Rayo training on Monday but would not be able to play for the club until January.
De Tomás was in talks with Sharjah FC regarding a loan deal but the Spain international has reportedly rejected an offer of €4m per season from the club.
A move to Rayo Vallecano, a club De Tomás knows well, was previously denied on the night the Spanish transfer window closed.
Rayo submitted their latest offer for De Tomás 15 minutes before the window closed in Spain.
Espanyol decided to accept the offer at midnight but the documentation for La Liga did not arrive on time as the player looked for a late solution.
