Raphinha, Torres & Marcos Alonso: Barcelona injury latest before Napoli

Updates on the wellbeing of three members of the first-team setup at Barcelona have come to the fore on Sunday evening.

As much, of course, comes ahead of what many no doubt consider to be Barca’s biggest outing of the season, this coming Tuesday night.

Turning attentions back towards matters on the continent, the Blaugrana are set to play host to Italian champions Napoli, with a place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League on the line.

After Victor Osimhen cancelled out a Robert Lewandowski opener in the first leg in Naples, the tie currently sits on a knife edge, at a goal apiece.

Safe to say, then, that Xavi will no doubt be keen to have as many personnel options at his disposal as possible at Montjuïc.

In turn, an update on precisely as much has this evening come to the fore online.

The info comes courtesy of Diario Sport, and surrounds three members of Barcelona’s squad to have been labelled as doubts in the buildup to Tuesday’s clash.

First, Ferran Torres – sidelined since early February owing to a hamstring injury – is yet to rejoin the rest of his teammates in full training.

The former Manchester City man’s participation against Napoli therefore remains in serious doubt.

The news surrounding both Raphinha and Marcos Alonso, though, is of an altogether more encouraging nature.

Beginning with the former, forced into a premature departure against Mallorca on Friday after picking up an ankle problem, wide-man Raphinha is showing no lasting effects, having trained as normal on Sunday.

Left-back Alonso, meanwhile – who has not taken to the pitch in a competitive setting since all the way back in early November as a result of a back issue – is expected to be medically cleared in time to take his place in Xavi’s next matchday squad.
