A number of Barcelona players have taken to social media on Wednesday, to aim respective digs at Galatasaray star Mario Lemina. This comes in response to past comments made by the 33-year-old regarding Lamine Yamal.
Barcelona are of course fresh off making short work of Galatasaray yesterday evening. After making the trip to Istanbul for a Champions League clash, the Blaugrana recovered from a goal down to ultimately triumph 4-1.
Lamine Yamal took his place centre stage in proceedings, bagging a pair of brilliant assists during another standout individual performance.
And as alluded to above, in the 24 hours since, the 19-year-old’s name has continued to dominate the headlines…
Prior to Tuesday’s fixture, past comments on the part of Gala midfielder Mario Lemina resurfaced. Back in the summer of 2025, when asked by the media to choose between Lamine and teammate Leroy Sané, Lemina jokingly responded by asking:
”Who is Yamal? I only know Sané.”
Lamine and his Barcelona teammates evidently did not see the funny side of things, however. In the aftermath of yesterday’s victory, the young winger took to social media to unveil a photo of himself with the Man of the Match trophy, accompanied by the caption:
‘Now he knows me?’
From here, both Raphinha and Fermín López then took to the comments section of Lamine’s post, to unveil similar messages:
