Raphaël Varane spoke to Movistar after Real Madrid’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea in the Champions League, giving an honest reflection of his team’s performance.
“Both halves were very different. They pressured us well and were dangerous early on. After Karim’s goal, we controlled it more and the second half was better. In the opening stages, we couldn’t find those passes to break them down. We have to learn our lessons from this and take those into the second leg. Benzema’s goal changed the game for us. It’ll be important to be physically and mentally right for the second leg. Courtois is having a brilliant season and saved us again tonight.”
