Rafa Benítez will sign three-year deal with Celta Vigo

According to AS, Rafa Benítez will sign a three-year deal with La Liga club Celta Vigo.

The parties have already come to an agreement and the Madrid-born coach is set to take over the club in July, as they get pre-season training underway.

The agreement in place includes a contract between the two parties until June 2026, thus offering the stability required by Benítez and also demanded by the club, as stated by president Carlos Mouriño.

A three-year contract is unprecedented for Celta in the Mouriño era. The longest deals at Balaídos were for Eusebio Sacristán, Luis Enrique, Berizzo and Juan Carlos Unzué, who all signed for two seasons.

Sporting advisor Luís Campos has managed to convince Benítez by offering him a stable and ambitious project.

Benítez, who won La Liga with Valencia before winning the Champions League with Liverpool in 2005, will replace coach Carlos Carvalhal in Vigo.
